Wadsworth, IL (December 9, 2025) – A tow truck operator is recovering after a dangerous multi-vehicle crash that happened on Interstate 94. The incident occurred on December 6.

Authorities from the Illinois State Police, Newport Fire Protection District, Pleasant Prairie Fire and Rescue, and Bristol Fire and Rescue responded to the scene. Crews arrived to find a semi-tractor-trailer, a pedestrian, and a white Chevrolet van involved in a serious collision along the eastbound and southbound lanes of I-94.

The pedestrian was assisting a disabled vehicle along the shoulder when the semi-truck lost control on the snow-covered roadway, crossed several lanes of traffic, and struck him before colliding with the Chevrolet. He was transported by ambulance to the Advocate Condell Medical Center to treat his injuries. 

Two occupants from the disabled vehicle were also taken to area hospitals. The semi-truck driver remained at the scene and reported losing control due to icy conditions.

The Illinois State Police are handling the investigation.
